Is it this that important business leaders, government officials and celebrities were thinking when they applied Feng Shui despite the early opinions of skeptics?

Just surf the internet and you will realize that major hotels like Ritz-Carlton hotels, Marriot, Double tree Massachusetts a proud member of the Hilton family, and many others use Feng Shui.

An article in one famous Hotel Magazine at hotelmag.com had the following to say about the application of Feng Shui.
“EAST MEETS WEST. Long employed by Asians to promote harmonious, balanced environments, Western designers, architects and builders began working with feng shui principles in the 1990s to develop chic hotels such as the Las Vegas Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino and London’s my hotel Bloomsbury. Now the Loews Coronado Bay Resort, Coronado, California, has introduced the feng shui practice of balancing elements to its meeting services department.

Meeting planners wishing to host events such as conferences, parties, seminars, and even weddings at Loews Coronado Bay receive complimentary consultations with a conference manager trained in feng shui basics. Loews staff will aid planners with the selection of sound systems, colors, lighting, flowers and aromatherapy intended to promote unity and harmony within their specific groups. Feng shui breaks are available throughout events, complete with soothing music, waterfall, almond cookies and tea.”

Major banks like Hong Kong Bank, Chase Manhattan Bank, Citibank etc. use Feng Shui
The Los Angeles Times reported that News Corp., Coco-Cola, Proctor & Gamble, Hewlett-Packard and Ford Motors are also using Feng Shui. 

Singapore is one city that has had phenomenal financial growth. Its good fortune has been attributed to the persistent practice of Feng Shui by Singapore's Prime Minister, Lee Kuan Yew.

I am not an expert on the subject, but with all this information about the benefits of Feng Shui, I do ask myself if this is not the time to seriously evaluate the official application of this millennia old art & science on our Island?
Is there anything to lose if we do apply Feng Shui in our government buildings, in the meeting rooms of the parliament, in urban development, in schools etc.?
I do not think so. As we can read from the various articles, the results are measurable.

I do understand that for a couple of years now, a group of people on our Island have been successfully practicing Feng Shui in their personal, professional and business lives. Since early last year, some of this group has decided to start the “Island Healing Project.”
I do also understand that this project will culminate in March 2008 with the celebration of the Curacao World Feng Shui Conference, when the world’s first and foremost authority on Feng Shui, namely Professor Lin Yun will pay an official visit to our Island.
This conference has given Curacao a lot of attention all over the world.

I do congratulate the Committee Conference Planning and Execution and all those who are involved in the organization of this conference with this remarkable achievement and wish them all the success for March 2008

This may be the time for all of us on this Island to support this committee in the application of a different strategy in order to create the much needed harmony on our “dushi Korsou.”
